President’s Message

Greetings and Namaskaram!

We, the Whangarei Malayalee Association, extend a warm welcome to you to our community and our Association's website. As the current President of the Whangarei Malayalee Association, I am both proud and humbled to address you today. We are proud of the work we do to promote and preserve the rich cultural heritage of Kerala, while also building strong connections among our members and with the wider community.

For over a decade, my family and I have called Whangarei our home. This picturesque city in the Northland region of New Zealand is known for its beautiful scenery, stunning coastline, lush forests, rich cultural heritage, and friendly community. We love living and growing here amidst its cultural diversities.

Our Association has come a long way since its humble beginnings, and it is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our past executives that we stand where we are today. As we carry forward their legacy, we are delighted to announce that we now have our own website, making our presence felt online and adding yet another feather to the cap of our cooperative community.

At WMA, we take immense pride in our mission to preserve our traditional culture and heritage. We have taken up various roles in the past, addressing community problems both externally and internally, and standing by the side of any family during calamities and disasters.

Moving forward, we aim to double our efforts in promoting traditions, music, art, and healthy practices. By adding more community development works, we will make our presence even more evident. Our dreams are big, but by being united and focused, with great effort, teamwork, cooperation, inventive thinking, and administrative prowess, we will accomplish them, just as Malayalee communities across the globe have proven time and again.

Organizations and associations such as ours will shape the future of this world, with cooperatives leading the way in development. It is our sincere hope that WMA will be at the forefront of this movement and included in the list of associations that have made a significant impact in shaping our world. We would like to express our gratitude for your continued support and participation in our community. We look forward to working with each and every one of you to make our vision for WMA a reality.
